My barrettes changed from a piece of jewelry to a metaphor for what I was thinking. The books that inspired my collection were: (starting with the Leaves of Change respectively) Bambi by Felix Salten, The House of Seven Gables by Nathanel Hawthorne, Alice in Wonderland by Lewis Carol, Lord of the Flies by William Golding, Zen and The Art of Motorcycle Maintenance by Robert M Persig, The Good Earth by Pearl Buck, The Jungle by Upton Sinclair .
