This is my first year in the Bead Journal Project. I entered the project because I wanted
to keep beading in my hectic life. What I also got out of it is better designing skills. My first pages were filled with ideas which made the page unbalanced. Towards the end of the year I feel that it's easier to focus on one or two ideas per page. The circles, which are the size of a DVD, are made from Lacy's Stiff Stuff that where totally
covered with beads. I used all kinds of beads (mostly seed beads) and even childs toys, a boudhist pendant and an appleseed. The circles will be placed on books that will be used as journals. So they become a journal on a journal. Beading is a kind of meditation for me. The repetitiveness of the movements,
working with colours and finishes, I like all of it. It is a counterweight for my work in which I can almost never say: look, here, this is what I have done and now it is finished. With beading I can. And at the end of the day it feels satisfying to see what I have made for that day. I liked doing the BJP 2008-2009 very much and would like to thank all the participants for taking an interest in my pages and giving their comments. And of course: thank you Robin.
